Court issues non-bailable arrest warrants for CM Gandapur in audio leak case

A district and sessions court in the federal capital on Monday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in connection with an audio leak case.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Nasr Minallah Baloch heard the case but Gandapur failed to appear before the court. Owing to his absence, the judge ordered that the chief minister be arrested and presented before the court. The hearing was adjourned until November 5.

The case against Gandapur is registered at Golra Police Station.

This development comes days after a sessions court upheld arrest warrants for the KP chief minister in a separate case involving the alleged recovery of liquor and illegal weapons. That case is registered at Bara Kahu Police Station.

In the earlier proceedings, Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti presided over the hearing at the District and Sessions Court Islamabad. As Gandapur did not appear, the magistrate ordered that his arrest warrants remain in effect. The hearing in that case was adjourned until October 4.
