Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar has announced a significant reshuffle in the provincial police force, issuing a notification for the transfer and posting of five senior officers across different districts.
According to the official notification, District Police Officer (DPO) Layyah Ali Waseem has been transferred and appointed as DPO Dera Ghazi Khan, while Captain (R) Tariq Vilayat, the outgoing DPO of Dera Ghazi Khan, has been posted as SSP Research and Analysis in the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab.
Meanwhile, AIG Welfare Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi has been given the additional charge of DPO Mandi Bahauddin, replacing DPO Waseem Riaz, who has been transferred and appointed as AIG Information Technology at the Central Police Office (CPO).
In another move, SP Investigation Dera Ghazi Khan Shamsuddin has been assigned the additional charge of DPO Layyah.
The reshuffle, according to police sources, is aimed at improving administrative efficiency and ensuring the optimal utilization of officers’ experience and capabilities across the province.
