Pakistan Coast Guards seizes over 2 tons of narcotics in anti-smuggling operations

The Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) have seized a massive quantity of high-quality narcotics during a series of intelligence-based anti-smuggling operations in the Gwadar region, specifically in the areas of Hallery and Peshogan.

According to a statement issued by the PCG, teams recovered 1,400 kilograms of hashish, 105 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), 8 kilograms of heroin, and 6.5 kilograms of opium hidden in bushes in the Hallery area of Gwadar.

In a separate operation at Pasoo Gap in Peshogan, the Coast Guards intercepted another 476 kilograms of premium-quality hashish during snap-checking along the coastal route. Authorities believe the narcotics were intended for smuggling abroad via sea routes.

The seized drugs carry an estimated value of $134.43 million in the international market.

Reaffirming their commitment to curbing narcotics trafficking, the Pakistan Coast Guards said they will continue their efforts to combat smuggling in all forms to help protect and strengthen the national economy.
