The Punjab government has set a new record by resolving 1,005 land disputes within just 48 hours under the newly introduced property ordinance, bringing long-awaited relief to more than 1,000 families.
The rapid action follows a key meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, where Revenue Department officials briefed her on the swift implementation of the ordinance. The development marks a major step toward expediting land-related justice across the province.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed that cases involving women’s land rights would receive top priority. She directed authorities to ensure immediate handover of possession once a decision is made, adding that there would be zero tolerance for delays, favoritism, or negligence.
“Land ownership is only complete when the rightful owner takes physical possession. Decisions must not remain on paper, but should be visible on the ground,” she said. CM Maryam further reiterated that rightful owners will receive exclusive rights to their property, “whether it be a mere marla, kanal, or acre.”
She also encouraged citizens facing illegal occupation of their land or property to promptly contact their respective Deputy Commissioner’s office. The Chief Minister assured that such cases would be resolved within days, as part of the government’s ongoing commitment to delivering swift justice.
