Naqvi, Chinese envoy discuss security cooperation, investor protection

Mohsin Naqvi visited the Chinese Embassy on Friday and met Ambassador Jiang Zedong to discuss security cooperation and regional developments.

Both sides held detailed talks on counterterrorism, security collaboration, police exchange programmes, and the broader regional situation.

It was also decided to organize a business conference to address security concerns faced by Chinese investors in Pakistan. The first phase will involve engagement with the Chinese business community already operating in the country, followed by outreach to potential investors.

Naqvi announced the establishment of a Special Protection Unit to ensure the safety of foreign nationals, particularly Chinese citizens in Islamabad, adding that personnel will receive Chinese language training to improve coordination and efficiency.

The meeting reflects ongoing efforts by Pakistan and China to enhance bilateral cooperation, especially in security and investment facilitation.
