London – Federal Minister for Investment and Chairman of the Board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh addressed the UK Defence and Security Forum stating that due to its geographical importance, Pakistan serves as a vital corridor between the West and the East. He said it was a great honor to speak at this forum, which typically invites only heads of state, prime ministers, or senior military leadership. This marks the first time a Pakistani federal minister has been given the opportunity to address such a high-level forum, reflecting Pakistan’s growing global standing and diplomatic significance.
The event was held in the well-known Pall Mall area of London, where diplomats, high commissioners, British members of parliament, representatives of the UK Foreign Office, defense experts, and distinguished individuals from legal, economic, and medical fields attended.
The federal minister stated that the Government of Pakistan is actively implementing effective reforms to facilitate investors and promote business-friendly policies. Referring to the historic relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, he said that ties between the two countries are based on mutual respect, shared values, and long-term partnership, which need to be further strengthened, particularly in the fields of defense, economy, and diplomacy. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh also highlighted Pakistan’s role in promoting global peace and paid tribute to the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. He emphasized that Pakistan’s role in reducing global tensions and promoting dialogue is extremely important and essential for global stability.
The federal minister also praised the leadership of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, stating that Pakistan’s active diplomacy is being recognized and appreciated at the global level.
