IHC reshuffles seniority list after transfer of IHC judges

Changes in the seniority of judges at the Islamabad High Court have taken effect following the transfer of three judges, resulting in a reshuffle of the judicial hierarchy.

With the transfer of Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Sardar Ijaz Ishaq has become the senior-most judge after the chief justice and will rank second until further appointments or transfers are made.

In light of the changes, the court has issued a new duty roster for the coming week, under which seven single benches and four division benches will hear cases starting April 4.

A special tax division bench has been constituted, comprising Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq and Arbab Muhammad Tahir. Meanwhile, Muhammad Asif will hear criminal and other matters across different division benches.

The first division bench will be headed by Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar along with Justice Muhammad Asif.

The second bench will consist of Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, while the third bench will include Khadim Hussain Soomro and Justice Muhammad Asif.

The fourth bench will comprise Muhammad Azam Khan and Raja Inam Amin Minhas.

According to the notification, the new roster will remain in force until further orders.
