A high-level meeting of the Pakistan Muslim League-N parliamentary board was convened under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif to assess prospective candidates for the forthcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections.
The session brought together prominent party figures, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, alongside several senior leaders of the party.
According to party sources, the board interviewed more than 206 aspirants from 45 constituencies across AJK. Nawaz Sharif and other senior members actively participated in the scrutiny and evaluation process of the candidates.
The allocation of party tickets will be finalized by Nawaz Sharif after consultations with parliamentary board members, while selected candidates are likely to receive official PML-N tickets within the next 30 days.
Among the senior leaders attending the meeting were Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Pervaiz Rasheed, Rana Sanaullah, Marriyum Aurangzeb, and Anusha Rahman.
Other participants included Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider, Mushtaq Minhas, and Najib Naqi Khan.
