PIA launches post-Hajj operation to bring pilgrims home

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has begun its post-Hajj flight operation to transport Pakistani pilgrims back home from Saudi Arabia following the completion of Hajj rituals.

According to a PIA spokesperson, the repatriation programme started on May 30 and will continue until June 30. During this period, the national flag carrier will operate flights from both Jeddah and Madinah to various cities across Pakistan.

The second post-Hajj flight, PK732, is scheduled to depart from Jeddah and arrive in Lahore today. Meanwhile, Karachi will receive its first returning Hajj flight, PK860, which is expected to land at 7:25pm on May 31.

PIA plans to operate a total of 213 flights during the month-long operation, facilitating the return of more than 53,000 pilgrims who travelled to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.

Officials said the airline has made comprehensive arrangements to ensure the smooth and timely return of pilgrims to their respective destinations across the country.
