Two senior members of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), Faisal Gilani and Khawaja Anees, have announced their disassociation from the organisation, urging youth in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to stay away from its activities.
In separate video messages, both leaders said the JAAC had deviated from its original mission of advocating for public rights and was now working against the state and national institutions.
They appealed to Kashmiri youth not to become part of the banned group’s activities. Gilani alleged the JAAC was serving the agenda of anti-state elements, while Anees said he no longer wished to be associated with what he described as an anti-state outfit.
