The Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI) is helping transform barren land into productive farmland by supporting farmers and promoting sustainable agricultural development across the country.
Speaking about the initiative, Mehnat Kash Naujawan Farm owner Asim Awan said around 80 percent of the completely barren land allocated to him two years ago has now been brought under cultivation.
He said the farm is currently producing wheat, chickpeas and canola, highlighting the positive impact of the initiative on agricultural productivity.
Asim Awan added that during the crop season, the farm provides employment to around 700 to 800 labourers, creating jobs and improving livelihoods in the area.
Calling it a national achievement, he said the progress is not just an individual success but a success for Pakistan. He expressed confidence that, through the government’s initiative, no land in the country would remain barren in the future.
