Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani arrived in Islamabad late Wednesday on an official two-day visit to Pakistan at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Office said.
Al-Shaibani, who is leading a high-level official delegation, was received at the airport by the Foreign Office’s Additional Secretary for the Middle East.
The Syrian foreign minister is visiting Pakistan from Aug 19 to 20.
During the visit, the two sides will hold discussions on the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, explore avenues for enhancing cooperation and exchange views on regional and international developments, according to the Foreign Office.
The FO said the visit would provide an opportunity to further strengthen Pakistan-Syria relations and advance cooperation between the two countries.
Al-Shaibani is also expected to hold meetings with the Pakistani leadership during his stay in Islamabad.
