Preparations to celebrate the blessed birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are in full swing across Pakistan, with religious fervour and devotion being witnessed in cities, towns and villages.
Eid Milad-un-Nabi, observed on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, will be celebrated across the country tomorrow (Wednesday). The government has announced a public holiday to mark the occasion.
Seminars, conferences and Mehfil-e-Naat gatherings highlighting the life, teachings and Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) will be organised across the country, while processions and rallies will also be held in various cities.
Tonight, mosques across Pakistan will host Milad, Durood and Salam gatherings, where religious scholars will shed light on the blessed life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Streets, neighbourhoods, markets and mosques have been decorated with green flags, colourful lights and banners. Government and private buildings have also been illuminated, while decorative arches and gateways have been erected along major roads and markets.
Devotees have also expressed their love and reverence for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) by creating beautifully decorated models of the Kaaba and Masjid al-Nabawi.
Various cities, including Lahore, will witness processions and rallies. Participants will recite Durood along the routes, while arrangements have also been made for the distribution of food and sweets among devotees.
Religious scholars have stressed that expressing love and devotion to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) goes beyond commemorating his life, saying that following his teachings and adopting his exemplary character is the true path to success in this world and the hereafter.
