Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) is being observed across Pakistan with religious fervour and solemnity on Wednesday as the nation marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The day began with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salutes in all provincial capitals. The occasion is being observed as a public holiday across the country.
Special prayers were offered after Fajr for the unity of the Muslim Ummah and the progress, peace and prosperity of Pakistan.
The main event of the day is the International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference in Islamabad, which is being held under the theme “Protection, Development and Character Building of the Younger Generation in the Light of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH).”
Milad processions are being taken out in cities across the country, with religious scholars and speakers highlighting different aspects of the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and urging people to follow his Sunnah.
Mosques are hosting Milad gatherings, Durood-o-Salam and Mehfil-e-Naat, while seminars and conferences focusing on the Prophet’s (PBUH) life and teachings are also being organised.
Streets, neighbourhoods, markets, mosques and public and private buildings have been decorated with green flags, buntings and colourful lights to mark the occasion. Decorative arches and gateways have also been erected along major roads and markets.
Devotees are expressing their love and reverence for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) through various displays, including beautifully decorated models of the Kaaba and Masjid al-Nabawi.
