Islamabad wishes safety to Trump after Washington incident

Islamabad  –  Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound shock after a shooting incident at a high-profile event in Washington, where a gunman opened fire but was swiftly apprehended, and all senior officials were safely evacuated.

Pakistani leadership, which has increasingly assumed a pivotal mediating role between Washington and Tehran amid the ongoing conflict, issued strong and unequivocal condemnations following the shooting incident.

PM Shehbaz conveyed relief that all attendees, including Donald Trump, were safe from harm. Emphasising solidarity, the prime minister extended his thoughts and prayers to the US president, wishing him continued safety, security, and well-being.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also voiced relief that President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and the vice president remained unharmed in the incident.

He strongly denounced all forms of violence, underscoring that such acts stand in direct opposition to diplomacy and are wholly unacceptable in any civilised society.

Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s goodwill, extending best wishes to the American leadership and people during this unsettling moment.
