President Asif Ali Zardari and PM Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the nation and the armed forces on the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, praising the courage, unity, and resilience shown during the conflict.
In a message issued from the federal capital, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described Marka-e-Haq as a day of gratitude for the blessings of Allah Almighty and commended the bravery of Pakistan’s armed forces for delivering a strong response to the enemy.
He said the nation honours its martyrs, veterans, and their families, adding that the armed forces stood like a “steel wall” in defence of the country. The prime minister further stated that Pakistan’s military demonstrated coordinated capabilities across land, sea, air, and cyber domains, reinforcing the country’s defence strength.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari praised the leadership and strategic decisions of Asim Munir for the success of Marka-e-Haq.He also commended Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and the Pakistan Air Force for their professionalism and operational performance, while appreciating Naveed Ashraf and the Pakistan Navy for maintaining strong defence preparedness.
The president stated that Pakistan remains a responsible and peace-loving state that responded to aggression in a balanced manner while effectively demonstrating its defence capabilities to the international community.
He reiterated Pakistan’s support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and called for the resolution of the dispute in line with United Nations resolutions.Asif Ali Zardari also criticised India’s move regarding the Indus Waters Treaty, describing attempts to suspend it as “water terrorism” and stressing that water security is vital for millions of Pakistanis.
He added that Pakistan, under the leadership of Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir, has emerged as a symbol of regional balance and stability, while the country’s diplomatic efforts aimed at the peaceful resolution of the Iran-US conflict have received international recognition.
