Asif Ali Zardari and Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have paid rich tribute to brave citizen Liaqat, who embraced martyrdom while thwarting a potential terrorist incident at the inter-provincial area between Jand and Khushal Garh Bridge near Kohat.
In separate statements, both leaders expressed deep sorrow over the loss and praised Liaqat’s courage, calling him a symbol of national resilience and patriotism. They reaffirmed that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism.
The President said that brave citizens like Shaheed Liaqat represent the collective consciousness of the nation against extremist threats and serve as an enduring example of courage and sacrifice.
The Prime Minister stated that Liaqat, acting as a responsible citizen, confronted a suspicious individual and attempted to verify his identity. Upon being questioned, the terrorist detonated an explosive device, resulting in Liaqat’s martyrdom. He said such sacrifices illuminate the path of national duty and responsibility.
Shehbaz Sharif further said that the nation will never forget Liaqat’s sacrifice, adding that individuals who stand against terrorism are a valuable asset to Pakistan. He also prayed for the elevation of the martyr’s ranks and for strength and patience for his bereaved family.
