Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held separate engagements with Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and senior US official Paul Kapur, focusing on bilateral ties, regional developments and diplomatic cooperation.
According to official sources, Dar and his Uzbek counterpart exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, including Pakistan-Uzbekistan relations and the broader regional situation.
During the conversation, Mr Saidov appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and security through mediation efforts. Both leaders also agreed to remain in close contact to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Separately, Dar met Paul Kapur to discuss Pakistan-US relations and key regional issues.
The two sides emphasised the importance of sustained dialogue and constructive engagement between Islamabad and Washington.
FM Dar appreciated the recent visit of US Vice President JD Vance to Pakistan, describing it as a positive development for bilateral diplomatic engagement.
The foreign minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomacy, stressing the need for peaceful approaches to regional challenges.
He also expressed satisfaction over what he termed the positive trajectory of Pakistan-US relations and welcomed expanding cooperation in various sectors.
Both sides underlined the importance of continued high-level exchanges to further deepen bilateral ties.
Mr Kapur acknowledged Pakistan’s role in regional mediation efforts and noted that relations between the two countries were moving in a constructive direction.
The two officials also agreed to enhance cooperation in trade, investment and development to build a stronger and mutually beneficial partnership.
