President Asif Ali Zardari has approved several important bills and government summaries, including environmental and legal reforms.
Among the approved legislation is the Islamabad Capital Territory (Prohibition of Plastic Book Covers) Bill 2026, an environmental protection measure introduced by Senator Sherry Rehman aimed at reducing plastic use in educational materials.
The President also gave assent to the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill 2026, marking a key update to the country’s criminal justice framework.
