MIRPUR – An eight member cabinet of the newly-elected PML-N, (AJK Chapter), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government took oath of office in the State’s metropolis Muzaffarabad completing first phase of formation of the cabinet on Friday.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in the State’s capital where Acting AJK President Chaudhry Tariq Farooq administered the oath to the newly appointed ministers. Those who took oath as ministers included Sardar Amir Akbar Khan, Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, Dr Mustafa Bashir, Colonel R Waqar Noor, Raja Saqib Majid, Umair Naeem, Raja Riyasat and Abdul Rehman Arain.
The AJK government had, earlier, issued a formal notification regarding the appointment of the new cabinet members.
According to the notification, the eight ministers were inducted into the cabinet with the approval of the newly elected AJK Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani.
