The Pakistan Navy has seized more than 2,800 kilograms of narcotics worth approximately $750 million during an anti-narcotics operation in the Arabian Sea, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operation was carried out by Pakistan Navy ships PNS Hunain and PNS Yarmook as part of ongoing maritime security operations.
According to the ISPR, naval personnel intercepted a suspicious fishing boat and conducted a search, which led to the recovery of a large quantity of narcotics.
The seized drugs have an estimated international market value of around $750m, the military’s media wing said.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf commended the crews of both vessels for successfully carrying out the operation.
The Pakistan Navy said it remained fully prepared to curb illegal activities at sea and would continue to safeguard the country’s maritime interests while contributing to international maritime security.
