Mayor Murtaza Wahab has announced that the city administration has launched rehabilitation work on 106 roads across Karachi, with the projects expected to be completed within 60 days.
Speaking to media during a late-night visit to inspect the work in various localities on Saturday, Wahab said the funds of Karachi’s citizens will be spent solely on the city’s development and infrastructure.
“We have started this work and we will execute it. Road restoration will also begin in seven other districts,” the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader said while reviewing uplift work on Shahrah-e-Faisal.
He added that the city government believes in taking practical steps for public welfare, contrasting the current administration’s approach with previous regimes. “In Musharraf’s era, whatever uplift work was carried out in Karachi, pictures of Mustafa Kamal were fixed on the projects,” he remarked.
