The government of Pakistan has reduced the prices of light diesel, kerosene oil and other petroleum products, according to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
As per the new rates, the price of light diesel has been slashed by Rs7.03 per litre, bringing it down to Rs163.77 per litre. Kerosene oil has been reduced by Rs1.48 per litre, with the revised price now set at Rs192.86 per litre.
A day earlier, the government also cut petrol and high-speed diesel prices as part of its fortnightly price review. Petrol has been reduced by Rs2 per litre, setting the new rate at Rs263.45 per litre. High-speed diesel is now Rs279.65 per litre after a Rs4.79 per litre decrease.
Officials noted that the reduction aims to provide relief to consumers amid ongoing global oil market fluctuations. Analysts had earlier anticipated a larger drop, predicting a decline of Rs3.70 to Rs6.35 per litre for petrol starting December 1.
