Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has declared the industrial and commercial development of Gwadar Port a national priority, underscoring its growing strategic importance for Pakistan’s economy.
Addressing a seminar and exhibition in Gwadar, the minister said the port city is emerging as a key strategic route connecting Pakistan to the global trading system. He emphasized that the development of Gwadar would play a vital role in boosting trade, investment and regional connectivity.
Managing Director of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), Aftab ur Rehman Rana, also addressed the event and highlighted Gwadar’s vast tourism potential, noting that its coastal location and natural landscape could attract both domestic and international tourists.
The seminar brought together experts, policymakers and business leaders from within the country and abroad, who discussed opportunities related to trade, industry, tourism and sustainable development in Gwadar.
