ISLAMABAD – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazal) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman yesterday visited the Iranian Embassy and met with Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam, expressing grief over the recent martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. During his visit, Maulana Fazlur Rehman recorded his reflections in the embassy’s condolence book and strongly condemned American and Zionist aggression against Iran. He recalled that “Zionist and European alliances” had historically occupied Palestine, and that the region continues to face intense tensions and prolonged conflict. The JUI-F leader criticised attempts to justify attacks on Iran through baseless accusations and described them as a second wave of aggression targeting Iran for its strong support of Hamas. “Iran is not only defending itself but also standing up for Palestine,” he said. Maulana Fazlur Rehman emphasised the need for unity within the Muslim world, stating that the Ummah should confront Zionism collectively rather than turning against one another. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Iran during challenging times and condemned the United States as an enemy of humanity, asserting that peace efforts under the leadership of “human killers and criminals” are a stain on the name of peace. He further questioned the logic of relying on leaders like Donald Trump for peace, calling it highly problematic.
Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam welcomed Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s visit, praising his and JUI’s role in strengthening Pak-Iran relations.
“Your visit brings reassurance and reflects our shared commitment to the cause of Islam. Victory will belong to the Muslim world,” the ambassador said.
