Crime rate drops across Punjab due to govt strategy: Azma Bukhari

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has said that crime rates across the province have witnessed a significant decline due to the government’s effective strategy.

In a statement, she said the improved law and order situation reflects the policies and direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Bukhari stated that the Crime Control Department (CCD) and Punjab Police have played a key role in curbing criminal activities. She added that in many districts of Punjab, even minor daily crimes have decreased significantly.

Highlighting the growing public trust in the CCD, she said the chief minister has decided to establish the department as a premier law enforcement agency.

The information minister further said that the overall law and order situation in Punjab is improving and recent crime statistics are encouraging.

She emphasized that women’s protection remains the top priority and “red line” for the chief minister, adding that no one would be allowed to threaten the dignity of mothers, sisters, or daughters.

Bukhari also said that every officer and personnel of the Punjab Police have been instructed to treat citizens with respect and address them politely using terms such as “Sir” and “Janab.”
