Sindh declares public holiday on April 4 to honor Zulfikar Ali Bhutto

The Sindh government has announced a province-wide public holiday on April 4 in remembrance of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. The day marks his death anniversary, observed across the province with respect and tribute.

An official notification confirmed that all government offices, including autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions, corporations, and local councils, will remain closed. However, essential services will continue functioning without interruption.

Bhutto, the founder of the Pakistan Peoples Party, was executed in 1979 and is widely remembered by supporters as “Quaid-e-Awam.”

Born on January 5, 1928, he was the son of Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto. He pursued higher education at the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Oxford.

Bhutto began his political journey as one of the youngest members of Ayub Khan’s cabinet before establishing his own political party in 1967.
