Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has welcomed the successful conclusion of talks between the United States and Iran, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to supporting peace through active diplomatic engagement.
In a series of statements, Dar expressed gratitude to both Washington and Tehran for responding positively to Pakistan’s request to engage in dialogue. He also thanked both sides for adhering to the ceasefire call made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, describing it as a crucial step toward de-escalation.
According to the deputy prime minister, delegations from the United States and Iran arrived in Islamabad for negotiations, which continued for nearly 24 hours and concluded on Saturday morning. He noted that he participated in the discussions alongside senior officials, contributing to what he termed a mutually agreed outcome.
Dar appreciated both delegations for visiting Islamabad and engaging in constructive dialogue, emphasizing that such efforts are vital for maintaining regional stability. He expressed hope that both countries would continue to move forward with a positive approach and a shared commitment to peace.
Stressing the importance of continuity, Dar underscored that it is essential for both the United States and Iran to uphold the ceasefire agreement. He reiterated that Pakistan will continue to play a proactive role in facilitating communication and coordination between the two sides.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s diplomatic stance, Dar said the country will persist in its efforts to promote dialogue, reduce tensions, and support long-term peace in the region.
