Pakistan, China ink three MoUs on water, agriculture, tea sectors

Pakistan and China have signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to enhance cooperation in desalination, agricultural technology and the tea industry.

The agreements were signed during a ceremony in Changsha, Hunan Province, witnessed by President Asif Ali Zardari, reflecting a renewed focus on practical collaboration in key economic sectors.

The first MoU was signed between the Government of Sindh and Lucion Environmental Technology Group for a seawater desalination project in Karachi. The initiative aims to help address the city’s growing water shortage by increasing potable water supply.

The second agreement, between the Government of Sindh and Long Ping Hi-tech Information Company, focuses on advancing cooperation in agricultural technology, with the goal of improving productivity and innovation in the sector.

The third MoU relates to the tea industry and was signed among MESKAY & FEMTEE Trading Company, Hunan Tea Group and Jiaolong International Technology. It aims to promote collaboration across the tea value chain, supporting industry development in both countries while strengthening economic, trade and people-to-people ties.

The agreements underscore growing economic engagement between Pakistan and China across diverse sectors.
