The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis increased by 11.4 per cent compared to the same month last year.
“This figure, however, reflects a 7.6% decline on a month-on-month basis in comparison to March 2026,” the SBP revealed.
According to the central bank, total remittances received during the first 10 months of fiscal year 2025-26, from July to April, stood at $33.9 billion, showing an 8.5 per cent rise compared to the previous fiscal year.
The SBP said remittances during the same period of FY25 had reached $31.2 billion.
Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances in April 2026, with overseas Pakistanis sending $841.7 million. The United Arab Emirates followed with $734.7 million.
Pakistanis living in the United Kingdom sent $563.7 million during the month, while remittances worth $317.6 million were received from the United States, the central bank added.
