A Karachi court on Friday sent alleged drug trafficker Anmol alias Pinky to jail on a 14-day judicial remand in multiple narcotics cases and a murder case.
According to police officials, the accused was produced under tight security before the Judicial Complex established inside Karachi Central Jail, where investigating officers from Darakhshan, Gizri, and Baghdadi police stations also appeared before the court.
Investigators informed the court that significant progress had been made in the ongoing probe and that further evidence was being collected in connection with the cases. The investigation officer also requested an extension in physical remand to complete the inquiry process.
However, after hearing arguments, the court rejected the request and ordered that the accused be sent to jail on judicial remand, directing police to submit challans in all relevant cases.
Police said the suspect was presented in connection with a total of 18 cases involving allegations of narcotics trafficking and murder.
Anmol was arrested earlier this month in Karachi in connection with two cases related to possession of narcotics and an unlicensed weapon. Authorities said she had already been nominated in several criminal cases prior to her arrest, bringing the total number of active cases against her to over a dozen.
