Soldiers of the Pakistan Army deployed at the Siachen Glacier on the occasion of Eidul Azha reaffirmed their commitment to defending the country under extreme weather and operational conditions.
Troops stationed at one of the world’s highest military frontlines extended Eid greetings to the nation from the snow-covered peaks of Siachen while remaining on high alert during the festive occasion.
In a special message, the soldiers said that while the nation was celebrating Eidul Azha with joy and enthusiasm, they continued to perform their duties vigilantly to safeguard the country’s borders. The troops said they remained steadfast despite freezing temperatures, harsh winds and difficult mountainous terrain, adding that they stood “like a solid wall” for the security and defence of the homeland.
Referring to the spirit of Eidul Azha, the soldiers said the occasion symbolised sacrifice, devotion and selflessness, adding that the honour and dignity of the national flag were dearer to them than their own lives.
They also reiterated their resolve to respond firmly to any aggression, saying the armed forces were fully prepared to defend every inch of the country.
The troops appealed to the public to offer special prayers during Eid for Pakistan’s peace, stability and security, as well as for army personnel serving in difficult conditions along the country’s borders.
