According to police officials, all procedures related to obtaining a driving licence have been moved to modern digital platforms on the instructions of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, aiming to make the process faster and more convenient for citizens.
Under the updated system, applicants can now pay their licence fees through any banking application or other digital payment methods, removing the need for traditional payment procedures.
Officials said the requirement to carry multiple documents has also been abolished as part of the reforms.
Citizens will now only be required to present their original Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) to complete the licence application process and obtain a driving licence.
The move is part of the government’s broader efforts to modernise public services through technology-based solutions, improve efficiency and reduce manual paperwork in government departments.
