ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Bangladesh reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors, including trade, education, social welfare and people-to-people exchanges, while underscoring the importance of strengthening collaboration on women’s empowerment within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The understanding emerged during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Bangladesh’s Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, Dr. A. Z. M. Zahid Hossain, who is visiting Islamabad to participate in the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women. Welcoming the Bangladeshi minister, Dar appreciated Dhaka’s participation in the high-level OIC conference and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting women’s socio-economic and political empowerment through enhanced cooperation within the OIC framework and other international platforms.
