ISLAMABAD – The United States and Pakistan on Wednesday reaffirmed their commitment to sustained engagement and closer bilateral cooperation as regional and international security developments came under discussion during a meeting between US Charge d’Affaires Natalie Baker and Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif in Islamabad.
According to the Ministry of Defence, Ms. Natalie Baker called on Defence Minister Khawaja Asif at his office, where the two sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, with particular focus on the evolving regional and global security situation and prospects for further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, Khawaja Asif underscored the importance of sustained engagement and constructive dialogue in advancing the shared objectives of regional peace, security and stability. The discussions also reflected the commitment of Pakistan and the United States to maintaining regular high-level engagement and enhancing cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
The Ministry of Defence said the meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, highlighting the shared resolve of both sides to continue dialogue and collaboration in areas of common concern.
