Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir performed Umrah in Makkah on Thursday during their official visit to Saudi Arabia.
The prime minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Atta Tarar and other members of the high-level delegation. The delegation offered prayers for Pakistan’s prosperity and stability, as well as for peace across the region.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz arrived in Jeddah on an official visit and was received by Jeddah Governor Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi.
During the visit, the prime minister is scheduled to hold talks with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. The meeting is expected to focus on bilateral relations, investment, regional developments and broader areas of mutual cooperation.
According to the reports, the two sides are also expected to discuss ways to expand trade, enhance economic collaboration and attract greater Saudi investment in Pakistan, while exploring new avenues of cooperation in multiple sectors.
The visit is being viewed as part of ongoing efforts by Islamabad and Riyadh to further strengthen their longstanding strategic partnership and deepen economic and political ties.
