Peshawar – Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (SACM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Population Welfare Tafeel Anjum has directed all District Population Welfare Officers to ensure, in all circumstances, the attendance and performance of duties by all Population Welfare Department employees posted in their respective districts.
He directed that legal action, in accordance with rules and regulations, be initiated against employees who remain absent from duty or fail to perform their duties in the district where they are posted. He issued these directives while chairing the annual online review meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Population Welfare Department in Peshawar on Monday.
Secretary Population Welfare Dr Anila Mahfooz, Director General Population Welfare Abdullah, Director Planning Imran Shah, Director Administration Salman, and other concerned officers attended the meeting. During the meeting, District Population Welfare Officers from all districts gave detailed briefings on the department’s performance, budget utilization, ongoing activities, services being provided to the public, and issues faced in their respective districts.
Tufail Anjum said that the services of the Population Welfare Department are directly linked to public welfare; therefore, no compromise would be made on the punctual attendance, responsibility, and honest performance of duties by officers and employees. He directed district officers to effectively monitor field activities and ensure that government resources and human resources are utilized for the provision of better and timely services to the public. The SACM directed that, in order to improve the department’s performance at the district level, issues should be identified and practical measures taken for their immediate resolution. He also stressed the need to ensure transparent and effective utilization of both development and non-development budgets.
He said that all available resources are being utilized to make the Population Welfare Department more active, effective, and public-friendly. He urged district officers to perform their responsibilities with dedication so that the benefits of the department’s services could effectively reach the people of the province.
