Rail services from Balochistan to other parts of the country have been suspended for two days due to repair and maintenance work on the railway track, according to railway authorities.
The Jaffar Express, scheduled to depart from Quetta for Peshawar on Sept 5 and 6, has been cancelled to facilitate the repair work.
Meanwhile, the Peshawar-Quetta Jaffar Express will terminate at Jacobabad on Saturday instead of continuing its journey to Quetta.
The temporary suspension and curtailment of the service are expected to affect passengers travelling to and from Quetta, particularly those relying on rail transport for intercity travel.
The latest disruption comes as other train services connecting Balochistan with neighbouring regions remain suspended. The Bolan Mail, which operates between Quetta and Karachi, and the Chaman Passenger service have remained suspended for around six months.
