Security forces have killed 11 Indian-sponsored terrorists during intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Kharan and Washuk districts, according to a press release.
The operations were conducted on September 6 and 7, 2026, following reports of the presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy group, Fitna al Hindustan.
On September 6, terrorists attempted to establish a roadblock in Kharan and disrupt local traffic. Security forces promptly intercepted the militants and, during an exchange of fire, killed eight terrorists.
In a separate intelligence-based operation in Washuk district on September 7, security forces targeted a suspected terrorist hideout. After an intense exchange of fire, three more terrorists were killed.
Security forces also recovered 2.9 tonnes of explosives from the area, which were allegedly being used to prepare improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
A sanitisation operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area, the press release said.
The statement added that the counterterrorism campaign under Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, would continue to eliminate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
