ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday said India had been exposed internationally after Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim declined to endorse claims linking Pakistan to terrorism.
In a post on X, Bilawal reacted to Ibrahim’s interview with Indian television channel NDTV on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi.
During the interview, the Malaysian prime minister agreed that Israel’s actions against Hamas amounted to terrorism. However, when asked whether the same description applied to Pakistan over the Pahalgam attack, he declined to make such a determination.
Ibrahim said the matter would first have to be established and noted that none of Malaysia’s intelligence agencies had informed him that Pakistan was involved in state-sponsored terrorism.
Bilawal said the interview had exposed what he described as Indian propaganda on Indian television.
He claimed that India had “started a war based on a lie and lost miserably”, referring to the May 2025 military conflict between the two countries.
The PPP chairman said India now stood exposed internationally and urged New Delhi to honour its commitments made at the time of the ceasefire.He called for dialogue on all outstanding issues between Pakistan and India, saying discussions could help both countries achieve peace, prosperity and stability in the region.
Tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours have remained high since the April 2025 Pahalgam attack, which India linked to Pakistan. Islamabad rejected the allegation and called for a neutral investigation.
The two sides subsequently engaged in several days of military exchanges in May 2025 before agreeing to a ceasefire on May 10.
