akistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Barrister Salman Safdar on Monday met former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, at Adiala jail after months of restricted access, with prison authorities facilitating a 40-minute meeting following repeated requests.
In a post on social media platform X, Safdar said the meeting took place at 4:30pm, marking his first meeting with the PTI founder in seven months and with Bushra Bibi in 11 months. After repeated applications and requests, I was able to meet the PTI founder after seven months and Bushra Bibi after 11 months,” he said.
The lawyer said the 40-minute meeting was insufficient to discuss all pending cases and legal matters in detail.
However, he said both Imran and Bushra briefed him on their health and living conditions inside the prison and issued fresh instructions regarding certain ongoing cases and legal proceedings.
The meeting comes amid repeated complaints by the PTI and Imran’s family over restrictions on access to the incarcerated former prime minister.
The party has been demanding regular meetings between Imran and his lawyers and family members.
