President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned the 20th session of the National Assembly to be held on Monday at 5:00 pm in Parliament House.
According to a press release issued by the National Assembly Secretariat, the session has been called under Article 54(1) of the Constitution of Pakistan. The previous (19th) session of the House was held from September 1 to 5.
Meanwhile, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has convened a meeting of parliamentary leaders at 4:00 pm, an hour before the session, to finalize the strategy for parliamentary proceedings. The meeting, to be chaired by the speaker, will deliberate on key matters expected to come under discussion during the sitting.
All parliamentary leaders have been formally notified and are expected to attend the consultative meeting.
