National Assembly to meet today with key legislative agenda

The National Assembly is set to convene today (Monday) at 5:00 pm with a 16-point agenda, featuring key legislative business and policy discussions.

Among the highlights of the session, a motion of thanks on the President’s address will be presented, along with the introduction of four significant bills.

Federal Minister for Energy Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari is expected to table an amendment to the Electricity Act, while the interior minister will present a bill proposing changes to the Pakistan Penal Code.

In addition, Sardar Awais Leghari will introduce amendments related to the regulation and discipline of electricity generation, transmission, and distribution.’Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will present a bill concerning financial institutions and recovery of finances. He will also lay before the House semiannual and monitoring reports on the Seventh NFC Award.

Meanwhile, MNA Aliya Kamran is scheduled to raise a notice regarding a decline in tax revenues.

During the session, Abdul Qadir Patel will move a motion addressing delays in the submission of standing committee reports.

The session is expected to see active debate on legislative reforms and fiscal matters.
