KOHAT – Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi said on Saturday that Pakistan’s constructive role in the ongoing negotiations between Iran and United States has drawn global attention, positioning the country as an emerging mediator on the international stage.
He said that effective and proactive diplomacy by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir had contributed to enhancing Pakistan’s global standing.
Talking to media persons at the residence of Pakistan Peoples Party’s Provincial Information Secretary Amjad Afridi at Azim Bagh, the Governor said that the efforts of the government and armed forces for the establishment of peace would always be remembered, adding that Pakistan’s future was bright. He said that lasting global peace would further elevate Pakistan’s dignity and international stature.
Criticizing a political party, he said that while the world was acknowledging Pakistan’s positive role, certain elements were engaged in negative activities against the country. He urged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to focus on provincial development instead of pursuing anti-state narratives.
Kundi said that despite ruling Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the past 13 years, the party had failed to deliver any major development projects, adding that most claims remained confined to social media. He urged the public to critically evaluate such claims.
The Governor maintained that the founder of PTI had been sentenced by courts, and his release could not be secured through protests or sit-ins. He advised that any grievances should be addressed through legal channels and courts.
He further said that no negotiations could be held with elements hostile to peace, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to ensure stability in the country. Kundi also criticized individuals operating from abroad for running social media campaigns against Pakistan, terming such actions detrimental to national interests.
