A growing number of Pakistanis are seeking employment opportunities in Germany, but experts stress the importance of understanding the country’s structured hiring and qualification recognition system before applying.
A key first step is verifying academic credentials through the Anabin database, maintained by the Central Office for Foreign Education. Applicants must ensure their university holds an H+ status, indicating full recognition, and confirm that their specific degree is also listed.
If a qualification is not found or its status is unclear, candidates are required to apply for a Statement of Comparability from ZAB. This official document evaluates foreign qualifications and typically takes up to three months to process.
Authorities also highlight that regulated professions—such as medicine, law, and engineering—require additional certification from relevant German authorities, beyond standard degree verification.
In Pakistan, applicants must get their academic documents attested by the Higher Education Commission Pakistan before using them for international applications.
Experts advise that careful compliance with these procedures can help avoid delays and improve chances of securing employment in Germany.
