Ishaq Dar arrives in New York for official visit and UN meetings

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived in New York on Tuesday for an official visit scheduled from May 26 to 28, according to the Foreign Office.

During his visit, he will participate in a high-level open debate of the United Nations Security Council on “Maintenance of International Peace and Security: Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-centered International System”, which is being held under China’s presidency of the UN Security Council.

Apart from attending the session, Ishaq Dar is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts and senior UN officials during the visit.

Upon his arrival, the deputy prime minister was received by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, along with Pakistan’s Consul General in New York, Aamer Ahmad Atozai.
