Dar meets Egyptian Fattah el-Sisi, discusses Pakistan, Egyptian ties

ISLAMABAD  –  Cairo hosted high-level regional diplomacy on Sunday as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign MinisterIshaq Dar visited Egypt to participate in the R4 Ministerial Meeting at the invitation of Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdellaty. The meeting brought together the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Pakistan, who exchanged views on key regional and international developments and reaffirmed their shared commitment to dialogue, cooperation, and coordinated efforts to address common challenges.

During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister, alongside his counterparts, made a joint call on the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

He conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the leadership of Pakistan and reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding, brotherly ties with Egypt. He also welcomed President el-Sisi’s acceptance of an invitation to visit Pakistan at an early mutually convenient date. On the sidelines of the meeting, Senator Ishaq Dar held a bilateral meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdellaty. Both sides reviewed the full spectrum of Pakistan–Egypt relations and expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of cooperation. They agreed to further expand collaboration in trade, investment, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges, and to reinvigorate existing bilateral mechanisms to deepen institutional engagement.The two foreign ministers also exchanged views on regional and global developments of mutual interest, reaffirming their commitment to close coordination at bilateral and multilateral levels and stressing the importance of promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development. The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Government of Egypt for its warm hospitality and the excellent arrangements made for the successful conduct of the R4 Ministerial Meeting.
