Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced the provision of seven additional electric buses for Sargodha to expand the city’s public transport facilities.
The announcement came during a meeting between the chief minister and members of the Punjab Assembly from Sargodha. The lawmakers thanked Maryam Nawaz for launching the electrobus service in the city and praised the establishment of the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology, which they said was completed in record time.
The lawmakers informed the chief minister that thousands of people were benefiting from the electric bus service daily across Bhalwal, Bhera, Sillanwali, University, DHQ, Shahinabad, Kot Momin and Tehsil Sahiwal.
Maryam Nawaz directed the lawmakers to closely monitor the Model Village, Suthra Punjab Programme and clean water project and ensure progress on ongoing development schemes.
The meeting also discussed proposals to accelerate development projects, while the lawmakers briefed the chief minister on positive public feedback regarding government initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz said she was pleased to see people, particularly children and women, travelling comfortably on electric buses. She said all cities, including Sargodha, were being placed on the path of development and that resources were available to facilitate the people.
The chief minister said balanced development across Punjab without discrimination was the vision of Nawaz Sharif.
