President Zardari returns to Pakistan after private UK visit

President Asif Ali Zardari returned to Pakistan on Thursday after completing a private visit to the United Kingdom, where he spent more than a week.

President Zardari had departed Pakistan on August 27 and left London for Pakistan on Wednesday after completing his stay.

Speaking briefly before his departure, the president said he was well when asked about his health, adding that he had a “good time” in London.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Tipu Usman, saw the president off at the airport.

According to sources, President Zardari underwent several medical examinations during his stay in London. He did not, however, participate in any political activities during the visit.

The trip marked his first visit to the United Kingdom in nearly six years.

During his stay, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari also travelled to London on several occasions to meet the president.

The visit remained largely private, with his engagements focused on personal and health-related matters.
