ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed authorities to complete all remaining work on the Islamabad Model Jail without further delay, with the facility scheduled to be inaugurated next month.
Naqvi chaired a meeting with Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry to review progress on the project, which has remained pending for the past 15 years.
The meeting reviewed the status of construction, administrative arrangements and preparations for the inauguration. Officials briefed the participants on the remaining work and measures being taken to complete the project.
Naqvi directed all relevant authorities to ensure that construction, administrative and other necessary matters were completed before the inauguration. He stressed that there should be no further delay and called for close coordination among all concerned institutions.
The minister also directed officials to resolve all outstanding issues before the facility becomes operational.
Talal Chaudhry informed the meeting that he was personally overseeing the completion of the project and visited the site every week to monitor progress. He said continuous monitoring was being carried out and all relevant institutions were working together to meet the scheduled timeline.
Director General FIA, Federal Prosecutor General, Inspector General Islamabad Police, Director General NCCIA and other senior officials attended the meeting.
